Our heritage
Our story began in 1958, when Mr. Mahesh Chand Gupta and three partners started Shri Govind Handloom Factory in Pilkhuwa. Everything was woven by hand on handlooms: khes and shawls, with the yarn dyed and every piece finished by skilled weavers. Each khes gave work to many families.
In 1992 he started Govind Handloom. As tastes changed, in mid-1993 we moved from handloom khes to pure cotton bedsheets, woven on power looms and finished with hand block and screen prints. We found our first customer in 1994, and in 1999 we started printing in our own units in Kheda, Pilkhuwa, where our bedsheets are still printed today.
His sons, Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta and later Mr. Amit Kumar Gupta, joined the business. Together they grew it from a few customers in one state to buyers across many states, always changing with what our customers needed.

The name means “flow”: fabric that flows softly, and a legacy that flows forward. Pravaah Home grows alongside the Govind Handloom name our customers know and trust.

Mr. Mahesh Chand Gupta starts the firm that carries the family name today.

Rooted in Pilkhuwa
Pilkhuwa, in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh, is known across North India for its bedsheets and home textiles. Generations of weavers, printers and traders have made it a centre of the craft. It is where our family began in 1958, and where every Pravaah Home order is still checked and packed.
